Frequently Asked Questions[two_third_first]How long does a weekend mass service go for and what can I expect?
A service goes for approximately an hour. The weekly newsletter and a hymn sheet can be found at the front door of the church, and an order of the mass will be on the seats.
Where do I park?
There is ample parking in the streets of Our Lady of Dolours Mitchelton. There is also plenty of off-street parking at both St. William’s Grovely and Sacred Heart Samford.
What time should I get to church?
About 15 minutes before the service so you have time to park your car, collect a newsletter and find a seat.
Can I sit anywhere?
Yes, please find a place to sit where you feel comfortable, and if you have children they often like to sit where they can see the altar.
What do I have to wear, and do I have to bring anything?
Dress code is simply to reflect the space and the occasion.
I have kids – is there a kids program?
During the school term Children’s Liturgy is provided at all three mass centres. There are also little bags for the children with colour-in and reading books under the trolley at St William’s Grovely (please return them after Mass).
Do you have disabled parking and seating?
At St William’s Grovely and Our Lady of Dolours Mitchelton, we do have allocated disabled parking. The Sacred Heart Samford has both disabled parking, as well as a concrete circular drive to enable drop off and pick up close to the church entrance.
Do I have to pay to attend church, or will I be asked for money at any time during my visit?
Everyone is welcome to attend church and there is no cost to attend. We do receive an offering made freely during Saturday evening and Sunday Mass. The collection monies are used for many projects both inside and outside our parish community.
